Can Penile Filler Be Dissolved?

Hyaluronic acid-based penile filler can generally be dissolved using hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid. Whether dissolution is the right option for a given presentation — rather than observation or revision — is an assessed decision, not an automatic one.

Hyaluronidase works specifically on hyaluronic acid-based products; it doesn't affect the body's own tissue the same way. In practice, this means dissolution is a targeted option for hyaluronic acid filler specifically, assessed and planned around the individual presentation rather than applied as a blanket first step.

The tissue moves gradually back toward its pre-treatment state rather than changing instantly. Whether any further treatment is considered afterward — and when — is a separate decision made at follow-up, based on the result and the patient's own goals, not assumed as an automatic next step.
